About Razer

For Gamers. By Gamers. It's not just a tagline. It's a mission. It's exactly what drives Razer to create products which constantly tilt the competition in your favor. From behind the drawing board all the way to the tournament stage, each step is controlled by the undeniable desire for all gamers - to always win.

The New Razer Blade

The new 14” Razer Blade strikes the perfect balance between power and portability. Experience streamlined performance with the latest 7th Gen Intel Core i7 Quad Core processor. Get faster, smoother and more detailed gameplay with the powerful performance of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics. Choose from two great display options, Full HD or UHD, or connect a VR headset for an even more immersive gaming experience. Get the best-in-class performance with 16GB of DDR4 dual-channel memory, PCIe-based SSD storage up to 1TB, and Killer Networking technology. All this power packed into a thin and light 0.70” unibody aluminum chassis is what makes the Razer Blade the best in its class – Powerful. Portable. Perfect.

7th Gen Intel Core i7 Quad Core Processor

The new 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, typically found in thicker notebooks, gives the 14-inch Razer Blade 2.8GHz of quad-core processing power and Turbo Boost speeds, which automatically increases the speed of active cores – up to 3.8GHz. Work, play and create with ease and enjoy smooth, high definition 4K content like never before. With the Razer Blade’s thin and light design, you’d never guess it holds all that power. Only with Intel Inside.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 VR Ready Graphics

The advanced GeForce GTX 1060 GPU is created with high-speed FinFET technology and supports DirectX 12 features. This means you can count on an amazing experience in every application—including performance in high-definition and immersive VR Ready games that’s up to 3X faster than with previous-generation GPUs.

More Power Per Cubic Inch

The new Razer Blade pushes the limit of what is possible with its incredibly thin form factor, made from precision cut CNC aluminum. At a mere 0.70 inches, this sleek powerhouse is the embodiment of extreme performance on the go, giving you the freedom to game anywhere.

3840 x 2160 UHD Touch Display

The stunning 14” UHD display pumps out 8.29 million pixels at 314 pixels per inch, so you get breathtaking clarity, hyper-realistic sharpness, and jaw-dropping color intensity. The high concentration of pixels eliminates the screen-door effect, so you enjoy the most stunning visuals when you’re playing the latest games or editing photo and video content.

More Storage, Faster Memory

The ultra-portable Razer Blade comes loaded with up to 1TB PCIe solid-state storage and 16GB of fast dual-channel DDR4 2400MHz memory. To further increase performance the PCI Express SSD enables you to experience speeds up to 3x faster than a traditional mSATA SSD, so you can boot quicker and launch games faster than ever before.

16.8 Million Colors Per Key

The new Razer Blade powered by Razer Chroma gives you access to 16.8 million color options per key. The anti-ghosting keyboard also registers simultaneous key presses with precision, so you can execute your commands quicker than before. With Razer Synapse, you can easily remap your keys and create macros, as well as personalize your own lighting effects and use inter-device sync with your other Chroma enabled devices, for a setup that is as unique as your playstyle.

Works Great Except for Weird Keyboard

I got this computer because of its speed and power for editing photographs. I don't play video games. By showing my images on the built in hi resolution touch screen I can edit pictures rapidly. It certainly works perfectly for this purpose.I can project my pictures on a 4k TV monitor and it works. I was worried about some of the comments but found them baseless for me,but one thing really bothered me which others thought was of no consequence.

Some people say it has a fan noise. It does not. They say it is too hot. No it isn't. They say the fan is blocked by your legs. I have skinny legs. Not an issue. The touch screen works fine. I was worried that the colors would be too bright, but was able to use a color adjustment system which worked well. (Color Munki) .

The one thing which seems insane is that backlit keys which can be adjusted to millions of color patterns, will not light the secondary functions of the keys. The keys are small anyway and are pretty far forward on the wrist rest anyway. The part that is lit is no problem but I am forever running words together and missing letters, for some reason. The secondary keys are tiny and are not backlit ,as far as I can tell.

4 Stars

More than 15 years ago, I had spent $2500 on a Quantex - top of the line. 15", thin - sleek; a black, no nonsense, slim yet sturdy Toshiba bodied machine with a built in DVD, 6GB 7.2krpm HD, a Pentium 4 supported by 2GB of RAM. It also had a dedicated ATI Radeon RagePro card. It handled everything levied at it effortlessly, but was quickly left behind by the burgeoning gaming PC market.
More than a dozen ATX / mATX / ITX builds later, I've returned to the fold.
The Razer Blade w/ the GTX 1060 is understated on the outside, only to reveal the beautiful Chroma keyboard and display within. It's the first truly slim and sleek desktop replacement since those days long gone, where a laptop could also put out the same performance as a desktop. The internals do not run that hot - perhaps a bit loud, but there are louder ITX custom boxes out there (such as the Gigabyte Brix Gaming, which has the same dB at load, but a much more grating noise profile due to the fan bearings). The chassis itself will carry a bit of heat, but nothing uncomfortable, and the keys stay nice and cool. The most noticeable warm spot under load is under the arrow keys.
I couldn't be happier. Real world test (multiple apps open, etc) of Firestrike was 9080 after updating drivers/Windows. You can't hear it in the next room, unlike my last PC. It's also much more portable, with a high contrast ratio display that is easily supported by the efficient graphics card.
